PC World Award Multi Million Euro Contract to WWI

PC World, a division of the Dixons Group, announced on the 19th May 2004 that it has awarded a multi-million Euro contract to the Irish company Walsh Western International (WWI) to handle the logistics for their E-Commerce component business in the UK. This involves delivering parcels to homes and small businesses throughout the UK and managing the supply chain of 89 suppliers and over 5000 product lines.

Brendan Ryan, Business Development Director, WWI said; “WWI’s programme for PC World will improve the cost effectiveness of the existing supply chain and, by decreasing inventory and reducing cycle times, will lower costs and improve customer service”.

Tony Clare, PC World Components Centre, said; “The biggest issue for this business venture is the movement of information in tandem with goods and services and WWI have the capability to do this and a lot more for PC World.”
